(February 1, 2008)  The American Lamb Board is working to increase American lamb retail sales through targeted retail promotions and ongoing retail communications and education. During fiscal year 2007, lamb retail sales outperformed all other proteins in terms of percentage increase in pounds sold. Lamb sales increased 1.4 percent and the average price per pound increased by 1.5 percent.  Beef sales decreased by 1.5 percent, pork decreased by 1.8 percent and chicken decreased by 2.4 percent.
