| Market News Available Through USDA (November 1, 2005) The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) new market news web portal is online and providing instant, real-time access to daily and historical reports on agricultural commodities. The portal is http://marketnews.usda.gov/. The portal allows producers to browse by commodity, with sheep reports available for both the slaughter and feeder categories. The new site, operated by USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service, allows users to create, save and re-use customized searches of USDA information. Customers who register and create an account on the Web site can log into the portal and create their own market summary charts to provide snapshots of commodity prices based on location and dates. There is no cost to register. |
