| Obituary - Donald Boyd Sealing Sr. (July 1, 2007) Donald Boyd Sealing Sr. was 86 when he died on Oct. 4, 2006. Sealing put in 50 years of continuous volunteer service in Howard and Garrett (Maryland) Counties’ 4-H programs and was known for his knowledge in sheep production. He began his career as a fair executive in Howard County in 1957. He served as director of the fair board for 19 years, started the Howard County Sheep Breeders Association and was founder of its sheep and wool festival. In Garrett County, he served as director of the fair board for 30 years as sheep superintendent and was a member of the Garrett County Livestock Association. He also served as sheep judge with the Eastern National Sheep Show in Maryland and West Virginia. Among his various awards, he was named Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival’s “Shepherd of the Year” in 1997. In addition to raising sheep, Sealing had retired from the Department of Correction and Public Safety after 30 years of service. Sealing is survived by his wife, Jane, four children, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. |
